چکیده

Abstract. This article describes a series of validation tests an active flap system (AFS) on multi-megawatt wind turbine. A single blade 4 MW turbine with 130 m rotor diameter (SWT-4.0-130) is retrofitted in the outer 15–20 AFS. The AFS controlled remotely pneumatic pressure supply located hub measurements were performed between October 2017 and June 2019 using two different configurations blade. description setup given, as well comparisons aeroelastic simulations. quantify static load control authority atmospheric conditions, providing preliminary estimate impact potential for concept. presents, furthermore, new method characterization such its dynamic response under conditions based blade-to-blade comparison.

Atmospheric Full Scale Testing of a Morphing Trailing Edge Flap System for Wind Turbine Blades

A novel Active Flap System (AFS) has been developed at DTU Wind Energy, as a result of a 3-year R&D project following almost 10 years of innovative research in this field. The full scale AFS comprises an active deformable trailing edge has been tested at the unique rotating test facility at the Risø Campus of DTU Wind Energy in Denmark. The design and instrumentation of the wing section and the...

Wind Tunnel Testing of a Full Scale Helicopter Blade Section with an Upstream Active Gurney Flap

Wind tunnel tests were performed on an aerofoil section comparable to that of a full scale helicopter blade section with an upstream active Gurney flap in the framework of the European project CleanSky ITD Green RotorCraft. A modified NACA0012 profile was used, with 23 Kulite pressure transducers embedded in the profile’s surface and with an integrated actuator system for the Gurney flap. The G...

A Full-Scale Fatigue Test of 9-m CX-100 Wind Turbine Blades

This paper presents the SHM result of a 9m CX-100 wind turbine blade under fullscale fatigue loads. The test was performed at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. The 9-meter blade was instrumented with piezoelectric transducers, accelerometers, acoustic emission sensors, and foil strain gauges on the surface of the blade. The blade underwent fatigue excitation at 1.8 Hz for defined interv...

An Improved MPPT Method of Wind Turbine Based on HCS Method by Using Fuzzy Logic System

In this paper presents a Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) technique based on the Hill Climbing Search (HCS) method and fuzzy logic system for Wind Turbines (WTs) including of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator (PMSG) as generator. In the conventional HCS method the step size is constant, therefor both steady-state response and dynamic response of method cannot provide at the same time an...

Design of a Wind Tunnel Scale Model of an Adaptive Wind Turbine Blade for Active Aerodynamic Load Control Experiments

Within wind energy research there is a drive towards the development of a “smart rotor”; a rotor of which the loading can be measured and controlled through the application of a sensor system, a control system and an aerodynamic device. Most promising solutions from an aerodynamic point of view are trailing edge flaps, either hinged or continuously deformable. An experiment was considered neces...
